I need to check this out. I've been doing this type
of thing for a couple of years now, a non-chrooted OS
environment side-by-side with android. Basically, only
/etc has conflicts. However, my environment is such
that I can switch between multiple environments very
easily. I have 3 ext2 partitions on the sdcard.
One contains a debian wheezy environment, another
contains a custom aboriginal build, and the 3rd is
throw away. The 3rd may be a large swap (if I am trying
to build gcc for example), or it may be a test environment
that I may throw away also. One of my goals is to properly
secure the rooted device in case it is lost or stolen.
A stolen/lost rooted Android device without any security,
well, you may as well just post your contact info, and
Google Play username/password online.
