Two interesting pieces of information.
Of course, apples aren't oranges, so the two don't combine into a $5.25 billion
loss for Microsoft.
Still, there is little doubt that OpenOffice has been/is poison to Microsoft's
bottom line.
It was too easy for the Monopoly to charge a healthy premium on their wares in
the late nineties.
Their mistake was to develop a habit they couldn't quit.
