It's all bought-in technology. The processors are IBM PPC, Intel or ARM, the
displays are from whoever has the best technology, the OS core is a bundle of
bits from various sources and all the other bits like cameras, microphones,
interface chips, everything, is from the folk with the actual design skills.
Even the rounded corner cases are made by someone else with non-Apple
technology.
The one thing they appear to do, in house, is a rather fine window manager and
program development environment for the same.
I suspect that the good in-house programs like Garage Band are bought-in rather
than Apple-written.
None of this is a bad thing. Successful companies make innovative products from
other companies technology. That has been the Apple skill.
It is a mistake to attack suppliers of key components who are competitors in
your marketplace, even if you created the marketplace with great products.
