There was a time in my life when I would have agreed with you. But I have seen
my share of situations where the competitive drive of some people got things
going, but wasn't so strong that it became damaging. There is a place for it, it
is part of human nature and it can play a positive role exactly because it is
part of who we are. It wouldn't have survived evolution if it was only

If he had wished for love and compassion, both he and his enemy would have lived
lives of peaceful cooperation. Being selfish and unthinking, he wish the death
of his enemy, and harm to himself. Hate is an effective motivator, but it
