Yes, I had the privilege of working with one, but it could have been a
prototype.
This was a transition period between the 8 bit and the 16 bit buss. As I
remember, the Z800 was like the 8088 in that it would run on an eight bit buss
under the old architecture.
The Strategic Air Command had a lot of contracts out for support equipment for
their aircraft. For example we had two TI machines the programmed Data Transfer
Modules (DTM's) for the FB-111A aircraft.
I was asked to to acceptance testing or evaluations on many oddball contracts.
Thirty years later all of that kind of runs together so I do not always remember
what was what. I happened to be a real fan of Zilog so when the Z800 machine
came my way I was really interested in it and therefore remember it.
