The builder then builds the system as they see fit.
There, fixed that for you. The user is not a user until after the system
is built. In my country the authorities have recently changed the law
so that home owners who wish to build their own home must get the
work certified by a qualified builder. Now I know there's a lot more
physical labor and public safety involved in building a house than in
a desktop OS, but having done both I suggest the order of complexity
is comparable, and is sufficient to deter some would-be builders.
To have to build your system is regarded as somewhat Stallmanish
to the majority of folks who do not read Groklaw.
However are those who cannot or will not install additional plugins
when required further down the path of indolence, or choosing no?
Let's look again at PJ's comment"
>> There is now [a video on this page] for those with the stomach
for to watch the entire hearing and who have the ability to view
something in [.wvx format], which doesn't include me. <<
Perhaps PJ has chosen not have plugins which view .wvx.
Note that .wmv is the default video container format on the
most widely used desktop OS, and a player is provided by the
OS vendor. wvx appears to be a stream playlist wrapper which is
unwrapped server-side to provide the content in whatever format.
Note also that the inability of W3C to agree on a codec or format
for html5 video leaves the field wide open for content providers
to use anything they choose.
For the record VLC is reporting the video as
Windows Media Video 9 (WMV3)
English 320x240 29.97 Planar 4:2:0 yuv
Windows Media Audio 2 (WMA2)
English stereo 32000Hz 16bits/sample

Arch is nice.
As a rolling release distro, it is not suitable for production work in a
corporate environment.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
