The computers at my spouse's workplace are infected with
Windows.
Monday she goes to work and email and phones are both down
because of a Microsoft update over the weekend.
Her boss (it's a tiny company) was on the phone with their
email provider for two hours undoing the damage on his end.
Evidently there was M$ damage on the email provider's end,
too because he was initially told it would be 4 to 5 hours
before email was back up.
As of noon yesterday, email was still questionable - that's
36 hours for a service company that communicates with its
clients by email.
Late last month I witnessed a company that was unable to
ship product for 48 hours because a Microsoft update killed
a PC that controlled a critical test unit.
People should fear Microsoft stability.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
