RMS does not shoot from the hip

I immediately know you're an uninformed idiot when you say that BSD and Apache
are considered "free as in beer".

RMS does not shoot from the hip
Authored by: PJ on Tuesday, March 26 2013 @ 04:13 PM EDT
You obviously don't know him at all.

Help with the prior art searching instead,
will you?

Your personal interpretations of someone
else based on an obvious lack of personal
knowledge isn't useful. We're trying to
get some work done here. I didn't set up
Groklaw or donate my time to keeping it
going so you guys can bloviate about your
opinions. The Internet is huge. Go there
out there somewhere else for such things.
When we are searching for prior art, that
is what needs doing. But if you insist
on expressing yourself, could you at least
try to be accurate?

This is such a waste of my time.

I've had dealings with rms for years now,
and I can tell you without fear of appropriate
contradiction that he is about as reasonable
in discussions as anyone I've dealt with. He
does not insist he's right, as you imagine,
and in fact he's changed his mind on a couple
of matters that we discussed. So you have
it completely and utterly wrong. That being
so, it's offensive to me to see you criticizing
someone who isn't appropriately criticized in
the way you are criticizing him. He has his
flaws, for sure. We all do, and if you were
on the world stage like rms, no doubt lesser
achieving persons would stand around and parse
all your flaws and perceived imperfections. But
what is the use in that?

I mean, genius comes with lots of flaws. It's
the human condition. But get off that topic.
If you read our comments policy, it says no
ad hominem remarks. And here you are determined
to do so ad nauseum. Stop it.
