Given the hundreds of billions of galaxies, each with hundreds of billions of
star and that's just in the visible universe, how can anyone make such a claim.
Also, our universe, due to inflation is bigger than we'll ever be able to see
and it may be just one of many (infinite?) universes. So, no matter how
unlikely or rare, it's still bound to occur many, many possibly an infinite
number of times. Brian Greene mentioned this is his books. There are a finite
number of particles within our horizon, which can only be combined in a finite
number of ways. But if the universe is truly infinity, extending far beyond
what can ever be seen, then those finite number of ways will all appear an
infinte number of times, including an infinite number of us. Then we can
consider that our universe may be but one bubble in a huge foam...
