i can't think of a single company that has partnered with M$
in any way that hasn't eventually been left on the curb to
die.

Lots of other companies know this. Litigation is way too expensive. It's too
easy to file bogus lawsuits. It's too easy to snow juries with tech rhetoric
and hand waving. This is true in ALL areas of law, not just patent law.
Todays laws are written by lawyers, for lawyers. Only lawyers profit from this
mess. This will only change when the majority of big corporations decide to
