I have no idea why you think that has any bearing on the discussion or why you
think the example is silly.

The parent didn't say they didn't think we could reach the moon. The parent
said it had not been fully tested - which is true. No LEM had landed on the
moon and taken off before. NASA had high confidence, but it was not 100%.
