U.S. gives big, secret push to Internet surveillance
Authored by: Anonymous on Thursday, April 25 2013 @ 10:44 AM EDT

You aren't going to get regular people worked up about this until the government is spying on them personally. People will say dumb things like "haha Obama doesn't trust the healthcare industry either!"

Then a year or two later, it gets pointed at everyday users. People say things like "I have nothing to hide!" then find out CISPA made it legal to arrest you for breaking Facebook's EULA that says you don't have a right to your own pictures or whatever crazy thing, and that the government now has proof you did it, and they are bringing charges.

But seriously, why is this sucker not ALL OVER the news? Most I know haven't even heard of the NSA before I told them about it.

I'm sorry, I ended up ranting a bunch without meaning to. I'm going to have to set aside some time to contact my representative, I think... I don't know what else I can do but educate the people I know about it and try to make them less complacent.
