Did they honestly believe that they were being treated unfairly in negotiations?
Nah. That's called a means to an end (or a lie, as some might prefer to say)
This isn't about discrimination, being unfairly untreated, or even about being
too ignorant to realize a concept of negotiation (then again, that last one
could certainly explain how they seem to destroy every company they make deals
with).
Instead, I think this is about an arrogant and fool-headed bully who is
beginning to realize it's own mortality. Because they're so integrated around
the idea that their customers should be treated as slaves, and freedom is a
cancer, they have no hope of survival in our future (not any future I would want
for my children, anyway).
They have no grace, no will (moral fortitude, ethical standing, etc.) to change
their ways. It is for those reasons, they've chosen to sue anyone they see as a
freedom-enabling enemy (using whatever devices and twisted logic they can muster
to that means). It will also be for this same reason, that they will fall.
Good riddance to bad rubbish, I say. I think all we can do at this juncture is
enjoy the show, continue to put light on the deceptions that come up, and simply
be there for the droves of people who will want to know what to do next now that
their master has gone.
Go Linux! :)
