Article where the
principal said this was an unauthorized science experiment.
When I was in
high school, some students decided to build a hydrogen powered engine, because
hydrogen was the "next big thing". The results were spectacular, spectacularly
unsuccessful, but spectacular nonetheless. I hate to think what would have
happened to them if they did their experiment in the today. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

school not far from me has built their own Aircraft.
I guess that since 9/11 that qualifies as a WMD so all those who took part
should report to a Maximum Security Penetentary without delay.
Yes, I'm joking but events like this alongside the killing of a 2yr old by her
brother using his 'My first Rifle' (also available in Pink for the girls) just
goes to possibly show:-
1) How messed up the US legal system is.
2) That getting a 'Common Sense' Lobotomy is mandatory for everyone in Education
and Law Enforcement.
When I was her age (circa 1967) I was building model steam engines complete with
charcoal fired boilers. I guess taking one of these to a US School would get me
the leccy chair/needle these days.
One of my colleagues mad a replica 17th Century Canon. The examiners insisted
the he demonstrate it. It worked and send a half in ball bearing right through a
wooden door. Everyone laughed loudly. his father came and repaired the damaged
door. No need for the law to get involved.
How times have changed and possibly not for the better.

Having a classmate help is conspiracy, slam-dunk felony for both.
