I spent about a week the driving on the left side over in Scotland, and it
wasn't that bad. The larger adjustment was learning how to shift with my left
hand. :-) At least the clutch/brake/accelerator pedals were all in their
expected places...

When I honeymooned in Canada we popped in on my relatives. My uncle asked me how
it felt to be driving on the wrong side of the road; having already driven in
continental Europe in a right hand drive coach, it was more a case of driving on
the wrong side of the vehicle that was odd.

Or the other way round - Pavement(American) = Roadway(English). Let's table this
discussion :-)
Having driven in a left-hand-drive drive-on-the-right car in Austria, I know
what you mean.
But apparently, like most people are right-handed, it is SAFER to drive on the
left. Not much, but there is a small but significant difference in the safety
statistics that says driving on the left is safer.
Plus, the majority of the world's population drives on the left, iirc. I could
be wrong there, but I'm pretty certain India does (officially, at least. In
practice they reputedly drive on all sides :-). Plus I thought China does.
Australia doesn't add much to the stats. Interesting question...
Cheers,
