Woah, somebody just lost their mind and went straight for paranoia.
1. To clarify, I meant that 95% of the tricks I used (shortcuts, menus, etc) in
windows 7 still existed in the exact same form. Not that 5% disappeared but that
only a small % of the ways I accessed things changed. I was just saying that the
changes were small. Sorry for any misunderstanding.
2. Its not that I mind or don't mind that Microsoft is a corporate bully. I just
think that it is irrelevant to whether I find windows easy to use or not.
3. I don't use IE, I use firefox(not sure why that matters).
4. In conversation, I said to some older friends who are employed programmers
that I had no issues using or figuring out how to use windows 8. Listed some
features I use. And they said, that I was not representative of the average
user. That I was a power user(and by consequence that my points were less
relevant).
5. As I am doing a MS in computer science, I would be hard pressed to avoid
using linux even if I didn't play around with it on my own. B4 I was a CS
student I was a computer technician, so I messed around with ubuntu then. Ubuntu
12.04/10 has been buggy for me. And of course I have a android phone. 70% of the
people in the world have android phones. Why be incredulous about that.
6. Instead of claiming I am a troll or a paid poster, why not address my
points... or not. Guess it doesn't really matter since its already decided.
Windows 8 is terrible because ... tiles are ugly... and the start menu is gone
... and a host of other things that hasn't slowed me down at all in using it.
7. My only complaint with windows 8 has been that I could not completely turn
off the left swipe into metro tiles gesture that occurs on the tiny touch pad
mouse in front of my keyboard. That is irritating.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
