I haven't seen that in any of my bills. On the other hand, some companies are
now charging extra for a paper statement.

I wonder how those costs compare with those for handling cash. Back when I was
in high school, I worked part time in a variety store. After the store closed,
I had to count the cash in my till and roll the coins. I'd then put the most of
the money in a pouch, which I then took to the bank and placed in the night
deposit box. The remainder of the cash or "float" had to be locked
up. Many stores have to hire an armoured courier to take the cash to the bank.
Credit & debit cards eliminate all that handling and result in immediate
credit to the merchant's account. Seems to me that provides some benefit to the
merchant.
