Of course, and it's only a suggestion, mind, but maybe,
just maybe, you
could quote the whole sentence? Hmmmm? Of
course, that'd be an honest thing
to do and it doesn't
really fit what you're trying to say, so, go on, just
spout
whatever nonsense happens to suit you at the time. For
everyone else,
this is what was actually said:
I think the MP3 patent is an
instructive
example; Fraunhoffer invested a lot of money in basic
research
into aurology and acoustics, discovered a lot of
interesting things and
packaged it into a truly
innovative algorithm for compressing
music.
Honestly. Do you think people are so stupid no-one
would
notice? Personally, I'm not a big fan of someone
dishonestly quoting
half of my sentences to impute to me
ideas I never expressed. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

inventions can be patented, discoveries can't
What would that bode for software ?
Is it invented or discovered or none ?
(my personal favorite is that it is written, as in made up to meet targets &
constraints, but maybe one could stretch that to inventing ? )
And is a sudden idea during writing a discovery ?[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
