My Nikon camera came with ViewNX2 (a cutdown version of CaptureNX2). And someone
on the flickr group keeps saying it's much better than the Adobe stuff. He seems
to be right...
Adobe has basically caught the visibility, so everybody wants it because
everyone else has it. If people start looking for alternatives to the cloud,
they could lose out big time.
That might not be a bad thing :-)

Wait about a decade, and you'll either be using FLOSS, where it is
still legal(1), or paying a monthly rental fee for the software on your
system.
(1): On at least two different occasions, Microsoft has paid
congressional representatives to put forth legislation declaring that
FLOSS is illegal to use. Thus far, those efforts failed. With a little more
n bribe money, spread out to a few more senators and
