I turned my computer off for the night and realized I just wrote something that
may be mis-characterized as, "Judges are wolves in sheep's clothing."
I want to make very clear that was not my intention, nor is it my view. I have
the utmost respect and appreciation for the judges that preside in our court
systems, and I even feel sorry for them because of all the garbage that they
have to endure in order to do their jobs.
I believe that our judges do not understand ("grok") software in the
way that we geeks do, and because of their lack of understanding, they have had
the "wool" pulled over their eyes by lawyers (who represent wolves in
sheep's clothing).
Judges are not dumb, and I believe that in time, they will see software for what
it really is (math). Once that happens, software patents will become a thing of
the past.
And while I'm at it, IANAL. I'm just proud and honoured to be an American geek.
:)
