Also *strictly controlled*... until someone
jailbreak's
it.
It is the app store that is strictly controlled according to
the OP. Not the phone itself. The fact that it is tougher
to add rogue apps
makes the OS a higher priority target ->
leading to more known
vulnerabilities.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Think about who their audience is though. Probably an individual iPhone user
has more disposable income than an Android user -- individual. Of course this
is more statistical than real but iPhones and iPads are still one of the most
stolen objects. The return on investment for crimes against Apple users is
higher than for other platforms -- except Windows.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Note that they put "vulnerable" in quotes. They're showing that
iOS has had more vulnerabilities found, maybe because the
devices have been on the market longer and were more popular
than Android. Hopefully that also means more vulnerabilities fixed.
The Android hacker community OTOH makes a feature of every bug,
turning their phones into coffee machines &c. And the festering mess
of third party apps markets can be ignored since all the problems
are either social engineering or trojans that supposedly don't affect
the Android OS.
