When you make an incorrect statement, and someone corrects you, an appropriate
response is to say, "whoops, you're right", or possibly, "whoops,
you're right, although it doesn't affect my thesis". An inappropriate
response is to argue with the person correcting you.
Not only were you wrong about JFS2 not being in AIX, you were wrong about its
relevance. SCO acknowledged that JFS came from OS2. They claimed the right to
control its distribution because it had been included in AIX. That argument,
silly as it is, has not been resolved by the court. To the best of my knowledge,
it's still their position, and thus, relevant to the case.
If silly arguments meant an automatic loss in court, Apple would have a lot
fewer court victories under their belt! :)
