I also never spoke to the other two points you made.
not being an
isolated island
not having unique contributions
I only spoke to
the perspective:
the US patent system and laws give the appearance
of having been set up to allow corporate US to grab profit from others'
work
If you would like to raise the other points for discussion,
then your obviously quite welcome to.
I would only suggest that if you
provide some background information on those points it would probably be
beneficial in stimulating appropriate conversation from those with interest in
those areas.
For example, on the context of the history of
patents:
The first
US Patent:
On July 31, 1790 Samuel Hopkins was issued the first
patent for a process of making potash, an ingredient used in
fertilizer.
While the earliest commonly accepted patent grant
appears to be by the UK in 1331:
1331 when Edward III (1312-1377) granted
Letters of Protection to John Kempe
