The law is very specific - the EU forms a single market. What is on sale (goods
and services) in one member state can be bought by residents in another state at
that price. Attempts to frustrate such interstate purchases and pan-EU use of
the item are illegal. Apple tried regional pricing and purchase control (on its
music if I remember aright) and backed down in a hurry. It is still in trouble
for trying to circumvent EU guarantee laws.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

European and Asian citizens do a lot more international travel than the US
population. Because we tend to have longer vacation periods we can do more. From
the UK it is easy to take a motor home or trailer to any European country and
travel to others during a vacation. Just one example known to me would be
Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland etc. Is Microsoft trying to tell us that we
have to be blocked from using our kit on vacation? And forget about being on
line throughout.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
