I've long thought that a physical mechanical or better chemical process was what
Congress intended by the use of the word "process", not an abstract
business or electronic process.

It would seem that you are saying the vulcanizing process was
undeserving of a patent. It describes the process of treating
rubber to make it more durable, but the process is not
physical, it describes physical steps (heating).
Is this a correct interpretation of your statements?
