not exist in physical form it is not patent eligible"
This would rule out process patents, as a process, while it
may involve steps using physical things, is not physical

The piano by itself does nothing except occupy space and for some people look
impressive.
The music score, or the player's 'inspiration' is the program.
The keyboard (or whatever) is the Application Interface.
Point:- the score being played does not create a new instrument. Thus is a
