How many of the people who read ars are sufficiently motivated to do anything
about it? Ars also noted

We all need a simple appliance that can be
plugged in at home ...
Ah, no, it needs to be plugged in someplace
else that you can trust. Burglars, fire, tornado, are likely to take the backups
out with the data. Unless
you're talking about backing up the office stuff to
home, and vice versa.
The Market Forces are slowly but surely drifting up into
the cloud. There seems no interest in us geeks who are staying down in our
sandboxes.
