I'm not saying any of the following in an attempt to argue. I'm providing it
in order to help you understand who I am with suggestions on how to better
communicate with me in the future should you so choose. But I can't make you
choose to better communicate. That choice is all yours.
Unlike other
humans, I've never been able to read minds. I assume other humans can read
minds because there are those who appear to think I should just know
something... like who you are vs other anons who don't sign their
posts.
As a result, I can only follow the same behavioral patterns others
humans follow. I am human after all. One of those patterns is:
Based on
the greater amount of experience - what was the likely purpose?
And all of
my past experience - when someone brings up carbon footprint - has been with
people trying to convince me that 1 rechargeable battery was worse then lots of
non-rechargeables.
In the future, it would help me understand your intent
better if you actually verbalized (or in this instance authored) it rather then
leaving it up to chance that I'd understand the intent properly. Two factors
lead to my misunderstanding:
1: You didn't say anything except mention
carbon footprint in your subject.
2: The link you provided took me to a
page which currently shows nothing but non-rechargeables (most duracel).
A
"You can find lithium ion rechargeables at this source and it's closer to home"
would have been perfect. I wouldn't have erred and misunderstood you. I
certainly wouldn't have been curious why the poster seemed to view 1
rechargeable has a higher footprint then many non-rechargeables. Now that it
has been pointed out - I took a closer look at the sight. Thank you for the
link and again, my appologies for the misunderstanding.
Is there
nothing you wont argue with me about?
It's absolutely nothing
personal. If you are the same person - I have no way of knowing it. So I
certainly can't target you specifically. You are no different to me then all
the other anons who never sign their postings.
This comes back to the "I
can't read minds". If you can accept that I can't read minds, and that our
experiences could be different so I could reasonably conclude something you
didn't intend - then I think we can communicate better in the
future.
However - if you don't clarify your intent and I end up
misunderstanding.... then you share a measure of the responsibility in our
misunderstandings. Communication is a two-way street and when only one side
makes an attempt to understand - misunderstandings are going to
occur.
I'm doing what I can to help you understand me better - such as
clarifying your intent - now the question is:
Will you consider that and in
the future better clarify your intent?
Perhaps we simply communicate in
ways wherein we can't communicate. In which case, might I offer the
suggestion:
Don't respond to any of my posts - even in helpful ways. Ignore
them completely in order to decrease your stress levels.
