Not you, Bill Gates and other "technology lights" who sell nonsense
dreams because common sense doesn't get the same kind of profit margin.
The names I give to the illusions being encouraged --
The computer as a magic box, rather than just a fancy pen with fancy paper.
The idea that the context clues that help us see through physical communication
scams are so much semantic noise.
The idea that programmed control at high speed is a reasonable proxy for human
control.
The concept of standards as a substitute for common sense and the exercise of
judgement.
The idea that seller of technology has done his corporate duty in selling basic
technology when the tech is delivered without the tools that allow people to
deal with it properly.
