Hmm, if you read the comments on the bottom, Verizon admits this then gives a
BS reason why they "Have" to do it. Per Verizon, SIP communications over their
network uses GSM & their 4G network uses CDMA and they are
incompatible.
There are so many things wrong with this that statement that
I'm not sure where to begin.
- SIP is the protocol not GSM - GSM is a
codec used to encode the audio - it is also only 1 of about 6 commonly used ones
in VOIP communications.
- CDMA is a transmission level protocol. It caries the
data - including the VOIP communications used by Verizon itself as well as all
of the other internet traffic.
- The data is contained in a standard TCP
packet. A SIP packet is no different than an HTTP request as far as the network
is concerned.
Essentially, Verizon is lying to people just to block VOIP
traffic that they aren't able to bill for.--- You patented WHAT?!?!?! [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

That should be the penalty for altering or blocking user data. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
